Animation is a illustrative medium that I aspire to learn more about. In future I hope to create character and/or story centric work, but for now I’m practising the basics through portraying animals.
Much of the work shown here comes from my A-level Fine Art coursework, where I created pieces relating to the theme of Shelter.

This piece was inspired by my pet goldfish. I created the animation using by drawing the different movement on layers in Photoshop and then transferring them into moving frames. The moving background comes from one larger illustration of rocks that I was able to adjust in each frame. I think this is one of my more successful pieces of animation as I think that the lighting, shading to create a more peaceful atmosphere.

I used a singular base sketch of a fish’s main body and then used seperate layers to draw key frames for the nimation. I then added some in between frames to make the movement appear slower.

Below is an animation of a budgie based on observation of a real bird.
